Red is the canon name of the player character in the Generation I games Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow and the male choice in their Generation III remakes Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, where his female counterpart is Green. Prior to Generation II, he was officially referred to as Satoshi.Red is known throughout the Pokémon world as the Champion from Pallet Town, as well as a living legend for his defeat of Team Rocket in Kanto during his quest. He is the final opponent in the Generation II games Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, their Generation IV remakes Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Pokémon Stadium 2. He is a participant in the Pokémon World Tournament's Champions Tournament in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 and works as a boss of the Battle Tree alongside Blue in the Generation VII games Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, he appears as the highest-level Trainer in the game, capable of being challenged after defeating six Master Trainers.

A Pokémon Trainer is always prepared, and he is no different.
Although Red is known to have those six Pokémon on him most of the time, he is known to have other Pokémon. Here is a list on all of the partners he has used in the past
Jolteon – This Pokémon of his was used in his most of his journey, and also one of the few Pokémon that took him to the Hall of Fame.
Dodrio – Another Pokémon of his that took him to the Hall of Fame.
Gengar – A Pokémon found in Lavender Town’s Pokémon Tower. This Pokémon earned him the Marsh Badge from Leader Sabrina, and helped in his fight against Mewtwo.
Scizor – Another Pokémon of his that took him to the Hall of Fame. He evolved this Pokémon into its new form when arriving in the Johto region.
Persian – Another Pokémon of his that took him to the Hall of Fame.
Hitmonlee – This Pokémon was a gift to him for beating the Fighting Master in Saffron City. This Pokémon was used in his fight against Leader Giovanni.
Kabutops – Another Pokémon that was a gift to him, but it began as a Dome Fossil, which was received at Mt. Moon. This Pokémon was used in the fight against Leader Giovanni.
Articuno – This Pokémon was obtained at the Seafoam Islands, south of Fuchsia City. It was also used in the fight against Mewtwo.
Zapdos – This Pokémon was obtained at the Kanto Power Plant, north of Lavender Town. It was also used in the fight against Mewtwo.
Moltres – This Pokémon was obtained inside Victory Road, south of the Indigo Plateau. It was also used in the fight against Mewtwo.
Mewtwo – This Pokémon was obtained inside Cerulean Cave, near Cerulean City. Despite probably being the strongest Pokémon in his arsenal, this Pokémon is hardly used in battles.
Espeon – A Pokémon he had used for most of his post-Champion battles, and was evolved when entering the Johto region. This Pokémon was eventually switched out to Lapras for better battle strategies.
Deoxys – A Pokémon he from space that Red managed to quell and capture. Red uses this Pokémon in dire situations, and usually alongside Mewtwo.
Red has many items that he uses on his adventure, but here are the most prominent ones. He values each and every item he has.
Bag – This holds most of his items in this list. Items, Key Items, and Poké Balls, the works, all in those three pouches of his. Clipped onto the straps is his Vs. Seeker.
Bike – This was obtained in Cerulean City, via the Bike Voucher given to him by the President of the Pokémon Fan Club in Vermilion City.
Cases – There are many cases he has, such as a Coin Case, and a case to keep his HMs and TMs. However, his most important case, his Badge Case.
Dowsing Machine – This item allows him to find hidden items most people would not discover.
Fame Checker – This item allows him to check the rating and fame of friends and foes of people he have met on his journey.
Fishing Rods – There are many rods he carries, and there are the Old Rod, the Good Rod, and the Super Rod, most powerful in that order.
Key Stone – A particular item that he received from Mr. Fuji, a resident of Lavender Town. This stone is not worn with any accessory, but it kept on him at all times. This stone allows him to Mega Evolve his Pokémon.
Keys and cards – He has received many keys and cards on his journey, such as the Card Key, Lift Key, and Secret Key.
Poké Flute – This item was also received by Mr. Fuji. It interrupts the slumber of certain Pokémon, and awakens them in a violent rage.
Pokédex – This item is treasured by him. He keeps it on him at all time. It serves as high-tech encyclopedia on Pokémon, as personal navigator in Pokémon battles and training, and as identification. This Pokédex is a HANDY909 model, created by Professor Oak.
Silph Scope – An item found inside the Team Rocket Hideout. This item allows him to identify Ghost-type Pokémon, and other types of spirits.
Teachy TV – This item is a helpful tool that allows him to learn about Pokémon techniques, as a Pokémon Trainer.
Tickets and passes – He has obtained many tickets and passes, such as the ticket to the S.S. Anne, and the Bike Voucher.
Town Map – An item to help any Pokémon Trainer. The one he has is a big one that includes the whole map of Japan, displaying Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and many other regions.
Vs. Seeker – An item to allow the user to rematch opponents they have previously fought. This item is heavily used by him, and it is always found on the sleeves of his backpack.
Although Red’s journey is still young, he has a lot of story to tell to anyone. Here is a small breakdown on his life thus far.
August 28, 1984 – Satoshi Tajiri, later taking the name Red, is born in Pallet Town, Kantō, Japan.
February 27, 1996 – Red leaves Pallet Town to go on his Pokémon adventure, with his neighbor, Shigeru Miyamoto, known as Blue.
March 3, 1996 – Red has his first Pokémon League Gym Battle, with Pewter City’s Gym Leader, Brock, and wins, earning him his first Gym Badge.
September 12, 1996 – Red defeats and puts a stop to Team Rocket, and Giovanni disappear. Red earn his eighth and final Gym Badge, and makes his way to enter the Pokémon League Regional Championships, the Indigo Plateau Pokémon League.
September 26, 1996 – Red defeats Blue, the former Champion of the Indigo Plateau, and becomes the new Champion.
October 15, 1996 – Red investigates the mysterious rumors of Cerulean Cave, and battles the legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo, and successfully captures it.
January 24, 1997 – Red visits the Sevii Islands, and discovers the new, but weakly revived Team Rocket organization and quickly defeats it.
July 2, 1997 – Red finds a strange space rock in the shape of triangle, after it landed on Birth Island by colliding with a Russian space satellite. The space rock turned out to be the DNA Pokémon, Deoxys, and Red defeated the Pokémon barely and captured it.
1997—2000 – Sometime around these years, Red forfeited his Champion title, and went exploring many regions. Although not much is known, it is known he traveled to many regions and encountered many new Pokémon, and learning more about Mega Evolution. Sometime around this time, Red goes missing, and hides out inside Mt. Silver, near the border of Kantō and Jotō.
October 15, 2000 – A Pokémon Trainer going by the name of Crystal, finds and challenges Red on top of Mt. Silver. The conclusion of this battle is still a mystery to many.
